- have access to a range of benefits
- learn the latest knowledge and skills, and
- get a qualification that's recognised across Australia.
We offer 2,400 full-time traineeships and 600 school-based apprenticeships or traineeships each year in government agencies, including state government departments, local councils, statutory authorities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Councils and not-for-profit community organisations.
Check out how to apply then look for available jobs within the Queensland Government - it's that easy to take your first career step through an apprenticeship or traineeship.

What's the difference? Apprenticeships can last anywhere up to four years and are traditionally offered within a trade, i.e. electricians, builders, chefs, engineers. Traineeships are up to two years long, and are often used as a stepping stone to undertaking further formal qualifications - some even provide advanced standing in an apprenticeship. |
